Where You’ll Do It
The Marshes is a 4 bedded group home that caters for children and young people ages 8-18. The Marshes offers them the opportunity to live in a relaxed environment and learn to co-habit with others. The Marshes supports them to build their independence, work on social skills and help prepare them for their futures. At The Marshes we operate with high levels of parental warmth and nurture, forming meaningful, stable and safe relationships with our young people to support them on their journey.
Our young people are central to everything we do at The Marshes. The home is currently all female, but we can cater for mixed gender. Our young people are all unique, we support them in ways that are personalised to them and at the level they require. This may mean supporting young people who self-harm, or have emotional needs that impact on their mental health. Some of our young people may have diagnosis of ASD, or ADHD and we help them to understand what this means to them. Our home is busy, it is filled with lots of laughter and fun, and is led by a team that shows huge resilience and understands each of our young people’s needs.
Our team is made up of safe and caring adults who understand that this is not just a job. We come to work in our children’s homes, and respecting that is key. The adults in the home are dedicated and resilient and strive to achieve the best outcomes for our young people. They work together, communicate effectively and understand the importance of safeguarding.
