Practice Manager (Fostering)

TLC Wales Fostering, a specialist fostering agency focused on children with disabilities and health needs, is growing — and we’re looking for a dynamic Practice Manager to join our leadership.
About the Role
You’ll work closely with the Registered Manager to manage and support a team of social workers and non-social work staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and support to foster carers and children. You’ll also take a lead in key service areas, including:
- Marketing & Foster Carer Recruitment
- Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Support & Training Services
As the Deputy Safeguarding Lead, you will also step in for the Registered Manager as needed.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Supervision and development of staff
- Oversight of high-quality foster care practices
- Driving recruitment and growth initiatives
- Ensuring compliance with legislation and fostering standards
- Attending and supporting fostering panels
- Representing the agency at planning and review meetings
- Leading on consultation, participation and social events
- Monitoring, reporting, and contributing to CIW compliance and inspection readiness
- Supporting the implementation of Individual Placement Agreements
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Social Work Degree or equivalent with at least 5 years’ post-qualifying experience
- Registered Social Worker with Social Care Wales
- Strong leadership and staff supervision skills
- Extensive knowledge of child protection, child development, and fostering legislation in Wales
- Proven ability to build and maintain positive professional relationships
- Budget management experience
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel
- A commitment to ongoing personal development
